SKIN SO CLEAR! ( Cetaphil Gentle Skin Cleanser)

To continue with my posts concerning clear skin, and how one might achieve it, I have chosen to review Cetaphil. Before you think that it won't work for you, hear me out. PLEASE!

My interest in biology has granted me an understanding of the skin layers and how many of the face washes and scrubs we use disrupt the skin and eventually lead to breakouts and loss of skin tightness.

So let me break it down for y'all. As you may have read on the back of bottles, or heard in commercials; your skins has a natural oil barrier and you need to remove dead skin cells. Well lets start with the "natural oil barrier". When you regularly wash you face in the morning and at night, you probably use a face wash or soap, both of which foam up unlike Cetaphil. Now when you have makeup on, you think that you need this foam to properly cleanse your skin. I'm sorry, but this theory is FALSE. The foam in fact removes more than your makeup. It removes all of your natural oils. This causes dryness, which in the long run makes your face produce too much oil. Also since your skin is bare, any dirt it comes in contact gets in the skin and causes your hideous breakouts. I have used Cetaphil on a night outs worth of makeup and although I did have to wash it twice, it took the makeup off completely.

For the second argument, the idea of "removing dead skin" is in fact correct. You do need to remove the dead skin so that it does not deepen wrinkles or store dirt. But what you also should know, is that you do not need to remove all of it. The way I think of it, is on a microscopic level. So imagine you are a mini 'you' on the surface of your skin. If you remove all the dead skin with an exfoliant, eventually you would get down to the surface of the "alive skin" and would start scratching it. Obviously that is NOT good. So you might think, how do I know when I've reached the new skin? Just think, do you really produce that much dead skin and need to exfoliate every day or second day? ( the answer is no if you're wondering) So yes, you do need to exfoliate, so I have to admit Cetaphil can't do it all. But only twice a week and do so in gently manner.

In conclusion, I do have to be clear, if you follow this regime you will not wake up the next day with clear skin because your skin has to readjust. But trust me, I have done this and it has cleared my skin up completely, TWICE!

PS. If this does not work for you, please see a dermatologist since this most likely means you are more prone to break outs genetically and no face wash will permanently do it for you.

CETAPHIL retails for about 8 pounds.

Foods for GOOD Skin

So if your like me your always trying to find the right skin regime and eat healthy because you believe there must be a secret formula to perfect skin besides the doctors office. Well I have done a bit more research an have found some new tips conferring your diet to possibly improve your skin. The following are 8 founds that are proven to benefit your skin. Here they are!

Eating guava, pineapple, papaya, kiwi, and other tropical fruits that contain vitamin C will help defend your skin against damaging free radicals. Vitamin C is a powerful antioxidant that is naturally found in the skin, so eating tropical fruits and other vitamin C–rich foods can replenish your skin's stores. Vitamin C also helps your body produce collagen, a protein that helps keep your skin firm and elastic.

This veggie is high in antioxidants, including vitamins C and E. The vitamin C in broccoli aids in collagen production and keeps your skin healthy and supple, while vitamin E protects your skin cell membranes and guards against UV radiation damage.

The vitamin E in almonds can help nourish your skin and protect it from the sun's damaging UV rays. Just be sure to eat them in moderation, since almonds and other nuts are calorie–dense.

whole wheat bread, healthy skin, Food cures,
Whole Wheat Pastas and Breads
Another skin–friendly antioxidant is the mineral selenium, which is found in whole wheat pastas and breads. Selenium helps protect your skin against environmental damage and promotes elasticity and general skin health. High–dose selenium supplements have been linked to health problems, so it's always best to get your selenium from delicious food sources

carrots  keep your skin healthy and vibrant. Carrots are high in beta carotene, an antioxidant that is converted to vitamin A inside the body. It helps repair skin tissue and protects against the sun's harsh rays. Enjoy carrots raw in salads or with a low–calorie dip, or try roasting them to develop a rich, sweet flavor. (Bonus! Cooked carrots deliver even more skin–friendly beta carotene than raw ones.)
Pumpkin seeds are a skin superfood because they're so high in zinc. Zinc protects your cell membranes, helps maintain collagen, and promotes skin renewal

water is crucial when it comes to skin health because it flushes toxins out of your body, delivers nutrients to your cells, and keeps your organs functioning. It also helps keep your cells plump and full, which makes your skin look firmer and clearer.

fish, healthy skin, Food cures,
Salmon, herring, mackerel, sardines, anchovies, and rainbow trout all contain omega–3 fats, which help fortify skin cell membranes, protect against sun damage, and may also reduce the risk of certain forms of skin cancer. These healthy fats allow water and nutrients into the skin while keeping toxins out, and may also fight inflammation in the skin.

How to Make your LIPS Appear Plumper!

Your animation

So first I must give myself credit for the gif above since it was created by yours truly! I was writing a post on how to apply ones lip colour in order for your lips to make a statement and possibly even look larger. I take myself as an expert on this since I suffer from a small lip dilemma and enjoy wearing lipstick. When i decided to make a gif to make it clear. So I will delay no more....

1- Apply lip liner that is the same size as your lipstick or apply a nude lip liner contouring the outside of your lips. This is important since lipstick bleeds out through fine lines and wrinkles and trust me even if your 13 it will bleed eventually; so do it !!

2- Apply the first coat of your lipstick and then take a tissue and lightly close your lips on it. (as light as if you were kissing some one) It is normal for it to take about 50% off. This step is to ensure it lasts longer.

2x-  Apply a second coat of lip stick (same colour).

3-  Apply a darker tone of the same colour to the inside a your lips in a dabbing motion. Try not to blend / rub your lips together to much since you are not trying to combine these two tones to your overall lip.

4-  Apply a highlight to the middle section of lips. Again do not blend to much.

Hope you find this helpful and please holla if you have any inquiries.

Manicure TIPS

Want to make your at-home-manicure last longer? Then instead of rushing apply two thin coats of colour polish. This is better than 1 thick coat. Thick polish can bubble, takes longer to dry and chips faster. Therefore making that previous cheat to save time actually a sentence of forever having to repaint your nails.

How-To to Fix DEAD ENDS (Alberto VO5 Hot Protein)

Besides a minor dose of writers block that had recently invading my brain; I also have been busy trying out some new / old product to recommend to y'all. The product of this post is an oldie, that up until today when I  examend my lifeless hair today I had completly forgotten its magical ways.

Alberto VO5 is usually a cheap line that never delivers but when it comes to their mousse (which I will review at a later time) and Hot Protein  Moisturizing Intensive Creme Treatment they more than deliver, they cure your s%*Ty hair.

I figure a little background of my hairs history is needed to describe how much this product helps. I have had almost every hair colour and for the past two years I have been bleaching the F%*& out of my hair. But then a year ago I started using VO5's Hot Protein after I shampooed my hair and toweled dried it. Then I placed the packed in boiling or really hot tap water for a minute and followed this step by putting it evenly in my crappy hair.Make sure to put it root to tip or for me I focus on the areas that need the most moisturizing (my tips). A good idea is to leave it in your hair for a couple hours tied up or simply however much spare time you have then thoroughly rinse and air dry. No point in blow drying to  ruin your hair further!

The result may vary but for me I have said goodbye to my dead ends and split ends by using Hot Protein.

Beauty Tips : Hair Edition

Wearing your hair in a tight ponytail can cause hair loss and headaches

Beauty Tip

Be daring this week! Find a way to work in red lips at the office. Lipsticks with blue undertones make teeth look whiter. Too bold? Try a stain instead. It’ll give you the same drama without being too aggressive and will last twice as long.

The Best BB Cream ( Baviphat Magic Girl Vita Water BB )

As Europe and America have joined the BB Cream rage, we have actually missed out on some fabulous products. However we jump for the copies, made by companies like Covergirl; which in my opinion do absolutely nothing for the skin. So when it came time for me to find my BB Cream, I looked to the country where the rage began ......KOREA!!! The original benefits of BB Creams when they came out in Korea were to brighten skin by actually bleaching it slightly, stop breakouts, cover up like a concealer but in a lighter form and protect from the sun.

Before I carry on, I think I must address the bleaching issue since many have a problem with it. I use one that DOES have this effect and honestly its a GOOD thing. I have been using Baviphat Magic Girl Vita Water BB($29.90) for two years and my complexion when I am makeup less is one toned and any signs from past blemishes or scaring have disappeared. This was caused by the bleaching aspect, since it makes your face a
lighter but single toned shade. Now by saying this, one might think my face doesn't match my body....but you are wrong my friend. It is such a small difference that unless you stare in the mirror as much as I do all day, you will miss it. As for the side effects to bleaching, they don't have any and why, because its such a small amount.

As for the other great benefits, if you wear this as a moisturizer under makeup or alone it works as sun block since it has SPF 36. Also, it is a lot creamier than American style BB Creams so it actually lasts all day and covers blemishes if used alone and for more serious blemishes. I simply take some on my finger and pat it on to the area instead of rubbing.

And that reminds me, how I apply my BB Cream is simple, with my hand or a brush (when I'm feeling fancy) with about a pea size or less to each area of my face ( forehead, cheeks, nose+chin).

LIP STICK (Laura Mercier Creme Smooth Lip Colour and Creme Lip Colour)

So if you really knew me, you'd know that I love any makeup that reminds me of the infamous 90's makeup. Yes, anything that reminds me of the deep reds and eyeliner. And if you're wondering, yes I do own brown lip stick!
Creme Smooth Lip Colour (Tulip)

So when I found that Laura Mercier has a huge range in lip colour, including the best 90's colors, I was stoked. My favorite is the Creme Lip Colour because I found a shade that nobody to date has called me out for being too 90's; infact they compliment me on it. My other favorite is Laura Mercier Creme Smooth Lip colour in Tulip. Although this color is quite bright I think it is still under my 90's code for lip stick since it is one of those color a tween would have used in the era.
Creme Lip Colour (Plum Rose)

So if you are like me and 90's was your thing LM is the makeup of your choice!

Long Lasting Eye Color (Laura Mercier Caviar Stick Eye Colour)

So you know the one day when you decide you're going to wear eye shadow and have a "look" for a day. Then half way through the day, its gone because you either have rubbed your eye all of twice or when you look in the mirror at lunch it has clumped in your eye crease. Or my fav, when half of the pigment has shifted to under my eye.

Well, ever since I found Laura Mercier's Caviar Stick Eye Color (24$) I fear these dilemmas no more. Basically its a creme pigment. Plus my favorite part about it is that it does not rub off. The only thing that actually takes it off is rubbing with either face wash or makeup remover.

I use either Steel or Sea Shell, and I apply after a base on my eyes, such as my previous post with the eye canvas. I draw it on the lid of my eye then rub it in. Sea Shell it great for a daytime look and as for Steel its more dramatic. But with Steel, I would recommend a cat eye with it since alone it looks a bit odd.

Flawless Face : Inspiration

Hot \Mess
Blue you
Barbara Palvin
Effy Stonem/Kaya

Pre-MakeUp Tips:

1⃣ Exfoliate! Removing dead skin helps reveal smoother and newer cells which are much more vibrant. It also helps the makeup last longer because there is no dead skin to shed throughout the day. Shedding dead skin = shedding your makeup as well.
2⃣ Protection! Protect your skin with and SPF of 15 or higher. This will also help moisturizer your face because foundation and concealer on dry skin does not look good. UV rays can go through clouds. So even on a gloomy day, protect that Epidermis!
3⃣ If you have scars or wrinkles, use a makeup primer. The primer settles in scars, wrinkles, and imperfections so that the makeup doesn’t!

Concealer Everything (Laura Mercier Undercover Pot)

When you are working full time and want to have a life you need something to not let it show on your face. I started using Secret Camouflage From Laura Mercier but once I found the Undercover Pot (34$)I was in love! It fits in your purse and it has two tones to cover imperfections and setting powder to make sure concealer keeps.

I use the two tones to mix a similar tone to my skin on my finger tips and apply to imperfection or under eyes. When I do use it on my under eye I make sure not to use to much since the skin on this part of the face is the weakest on the body and therefore wrinkles easily. I also use it when imperfection are brought on during the day or if my make up is not holding up.

The only time I use loose setting powder from my undercover pot is when I am using it on the go since there is not a large supply in the pot. But you must carry a powder brush if you plan on using it away from home since it does not provide any such object to apply.

It comes in the below four shades; I do find Laura Mercier makeup basics good products since they are well made and have proper textures for faces. The only downside is that they are made mainly for fair skin tones since I find wrong. But if your are looking for a good brand what i have learned is that you much choose a makeup brand that caters to your skin type. For example Bobby Brown is proper for Asian skin types and colours since it offers more variety.
